In the Fourth Sunday in Advent Reading (Matthew 1:18-25) we hear: “Mary will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins” (verse 21). Humility, Faith, and Justification

Almighty and everlasting God, You are always more ready to hear than we to pray and always ready to give more than we either desire or deserve. Pour down on us the abundance of Your mercy; forgive us those things of which our conscience is afraid; and give us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask except by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. A Life of No Condemnation

On the Mount of Transfiguration, three of Jesus’ disciples saw His unveiled glory. In our John text for today – John 3:16-21, 36, we also see the unveiled glory of Jesus, that is that “God so loved the world that He gave His Son” over to the cross.
