The Disciples on Trial

Almighty and ever-living God, you love all that you have created and you forgive the sins of those who come to you with humble and contrite hearts. Create in us clean and honest hearts, so that, as we repent of our sins, we may receive full pardon and forgiveness; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen!

A New Beginning!

Almighty and everlasting God, you sent your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to take upon himself our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross. Amen!

Strike the Rock!

Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Stop Trying and Start Trusting

Father in heaven, although you graciously and daily provide for all that we need, we frequently fail to trust your love and mercy. Awaken our faith so that, all the more, we trust you in every test and temptation; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen!

Confrontation & Comfort

Christ was not afraid of a confrontation. He spoke truth to power with the Pharisees and called King Herod a fox. Before Him, Jeremiah also told truth to power. Jeremiah almost lost his life for this, and Jesus did. However, Jesus’ ultimate confrontation brings us the ultimate comfort. By confronting sin, death, and the devil, Christ triumphed. Through His resurrection we may know the comfort that comes from knowing Him.
