O God, You see that of ourselves we have no strength. Christ was not afraid of a confrontation. He spoke truth to power with the Pharisees and called King Herod a fox. Before Him, Jeremiah also told truth to power. Jeremiah almost lost his life for this, and Jesus did. However, Jesus’ ultimate confrontation brings us the ultimate comfort. By confronting sin, death, and the devil, Christ triumphed. Through His resurrection we may know the comfort that comes from knowing Him.
